My Current Skincare Routine
I’ve been wanting to do a blog post about this for a while because skincare is one of the things I dug deep into last year. I’ve usually had a pretty simple routine with the basic drugstore products but after facing some serious acne last year, I was forced to look into all types of products and treatments to relieve it. I learned all about non-comedogenic products, the different product bases, and how they all affect different skin types. I have a dry/oily combination skin type so identifying what works best for me was key. After a lot of researching and testing, I feel like I’m finally in a good place with my skin and can share what works for me, along with my favorite products.
Morning:
+ Cleanser: My mornings kick off with washing my face and cleansing with the Youth to the People cleanser. I love how bright and tight it leaves my face, plus it has so many vitamins to enhance the health of your skin.
+ Serum: This one I use on and off but I’ve been loving the Dr. Dennis Vitamin C Serum, what it’s done for my complexion is crazy. My skin has never had such a prettier glow since I started using. It is pricy but after I read the importance of using a Vitamin C serum with lactic acid, I decided not to play with what I apply to my face.
+ Exfoliator: Paula’s Choice Exfoliator has slowly gotten rid of any clogged pores or texture in my skin. I use it around 3 times a week after cleansing for about 4-6 months of the year.
+ Moisturizer: BEEF TALLOW! It changed my skin and i’m obsessed.
+ Sunscreen: I use the Summer Fridays sunscreen because it has such a milky texture and it absorbs perfectly into your skin without leaving a weird texture.
Evening:
+ Cleanser: Youth to the People or Micellar Water if I didn’t wear makeup or spent too much time outside. I try to limit how much I cleanse in a day because I don’t want to disrupt my skin barrier.
+ Moisturizer: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is super smooth and hydrating, perfect to last all night.
+ Tretinoin: This absolutely changed my skin and created that glass complexion. It is normal to purge and peel at first but after a while, it’s the best treatment for your skin. I get mine from Mexico but you can get it prescribed by your dermatologist or buy it at nurx.com
Additionally:
+ I use the ice roller from the Skinny Confidential to massage my skin every day and get rid of the puffiness.
+ Dermaplanning twice a week, it’s life-changing seriously!
